The Texas Tech Red Raiders had the No. 5 ranked scoring offense in college football last season, but they also had the last-ranked scoring defense. That made matters a bit difficult for Kliff Kingsbury’s team as they finished the season at 5-7 and didn’t qualify for a bowl game.
Well, one reporter wanted to know how Texas Tech could be so good on offense but so freaking terrible on defense. He essentially asked Kingsbury just that.
During Monday’s Big 12 Football Media Day, a reporter prefaced his remarks with some compliments for Kingsbury before unleashing the harshest question at the Texas Tech coach.

Reporter: You’re a fine coach. It’s a great conference, great school, all-world offense. I figure there may be 5,000 seniors who start on defense in Texas a year. You recruit from other states. Why can’t you get 10, 15, or 20 who can hold your opponents to 30 points or less a game?
