LEXINGTON, Ky. — The UK football program offered a scholarship to a 6-foot-6, 350-pound Olmsted Academy student over the weekend.
That’s right: Olmsted Academy, the middle school.
The Wildcats’ latest Louisville-area target is 13-year-old lineman Kiyuanta Goodwin, who has already been singled out for his performance at an Under Armour All-America camp for middle schoolers. Goodwin wears a size 17 shoe.
“He’s going to be one of the top kids in the country,” said trainer Chris Vaughn, the founder of the Aspirations Fitness Institution where Goodwin and many other top prospects in Louisville train, in a recent interview with the Courier-Journal. “He’ll actually blow up on the recruiting radar probably in the next month or so once people start seeing him in person.”
