Kurtenbach: The A’s picked the right site for their new stadium

“I think, for me, that’s about as good of a site as you can pick,” Melvin said Wednesday before the team’s game in Boston. “I live in fairly close proximity and, you know, to be able to incorporate walking distance from Jack London (Square) and from Lake Merritt and downtown … the sightlines of the city, Oakland Hills.

“I think it really ties everything together beautifully,” Melvin added. “I don’t know that they could have picked a better site.”

More than anything, Melvin was pleased to see real momentum continue to build toward finding a permanent home for the team in Oakland.
