The offense is searching for answers after a dismal showing in the season opener.

EAST RUTHERFORD — In typical fashion, quarterback Eli Manning tried to settle concerns about the Giants’ dismal offensive showing in Sunday’s 19-3 loss to the Cowboys in the season opener.

“We’ll be fine,” Manning said. “We just have to slow down, everybody take a breath and just run the plays the way we’ve been running them all spring and all summer.”

While it’s only one game, the reason many fans are hitting the panic button is because the opener was a continuation of last season’s offensive woes. The Giants have now been held under 20 points in their last seven games.

“I think you take it season-by-season,” Manning said. “I don’t think you convert back to last year. It’s a new year, new team and we have to score more points than we did last week.”
