The guy who hosted Blue’s Clues from 1996 to 2002, Steve Burns, wants to wrestle WWE star John Cena because it’s rumored that Cena may have auditioned to be the host of the reboot.
Burns told TMZ that he feels like the host should be someone you could see as being your friend in real life, not a superstar like Cena. Then, he said:
“I think if John Cena is serious about hosting Blue’s Clues, he and I should wrestle. I’m calling you out, John Cena — right now.”
Nickelodeon even chimed in saying that maybe both of them could host.

The rumors about Cena started with this photo from Adweek‘s Jason Lynch, which was then followed up by an Instagram post from Cena that showed the old Blue’s Clues show with no caption.
Does Cena, who has hosted the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards multiple times and executive produced a new game show on the network, really want to host Blue’s Clues too? Is this all just an enormous joke?
We’ll have to wait and see.

If you’re wondering why Burns left the show in the first place, there are many different theories, but Burns himself said in a Nickelodeon special that the real reason was simply that he was losing his hair, per Huffington Post.
