New Utah women’s soccer team to receive FC Kansas City’s players, draft picks

Last week it was announced that a National Women’s Soccer League team was going to play in Rio Tinto Stadium next week. On Monday, the team received some players. The NWSL announced the league reacquired FC Kansas City’s membership in the league and shuttered the franchise. The players will be transferred to a new club, operated by Real Salt Lake. “We are sympathetic to the range of emotions experienced in recent days by this group of talented players.
